Thanks Anthony!

I had a guy design the label, headstock logo and my business cards all at the same time so things would be consistant. The peghead shape just kind of evolved on its own though.

I just noticed that I have 1999 posts. How cool to be able to get brazzed with a post in a thread that I started!

Dave, that's a mighty nice-looking guitar. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with "good" wood!

I was hoping to hear from you Carlton. You offer some of the most constructive criticism I've seen. I thought you might have some suggestions to make this a little better. Feel free if you do.

BTW, I was just adding up the cost of this guitar. It was build for about $175 including tuners and strings. I always try to use up less expensive stuff on the first build of a new model. Don't think I could have gotten out of this much cheaper.

Honestly, Dave, in these pictures I can't see any flaws in design or execution. You could have added additional "chrome" with purfling and shell, but I like it this way, especially with the wood colors you've chosen. Your tasteful rosette adds just the right amount flash. This one's definitely a keeper!

$175.00!!!!? I'm not sure that's even legal.    If you keep that up, you'll have the highest profit margin in lutherie, after Olson and Benedetto!

Hey Dave, nice guitar. Can't wait to strum it. It's been a while since building one, but I still remember the first one I played, a C10 Collings. Never played a Gibson L-00 to my knowledge. These are such hot little guitars everyone should have one and build one.....

We eating out Friday night or are you staying in LR? bd
I told the Mrs. we might and she's up for it. Still have a complete extra bed and bath if you want to stay over, bd

Hmmm, I think one has to be able to sell something before one can make a profit. Not many buyers here lately. Maybe John Mayes has them all.

Bruce, I think we are going to stay in either Conway or Beebe, haven't decided yet. But if we make it to Russellville around dinner time I would love to go out with you and your wife. I guess we won't know for sure till we find out what time we will be getting out of here tomorrow.

How about I call you when we reach Russellville?

Dave, the new pics look great, and that is one very nice looking $175
guitar!
Good choice on the sycamore!! I love your logo... and I like the way your
full name looks on the HS.   I wondered if you've thought about just the
"R" on the HS. I think it would look pretty classy.... Just a thought..

Have fun in Ark!

Thanks Bob!

Yeah, I tried one or two with just the R on the headstock. They looked okay but when I tried to do a better looking one it just kept looking like I was trying to copy Kevin Ryan. Not that any of my guitars will ever be confused with a Ryan.

Dave, that's what we were looking for.
Many thanks for the extra shots.
I really like your rosette, and the all the design elements work nicely together.
Wish I could come to Ark. this weekend...
You guys have fun!

Steve

Thanks Steve!

Dude, I wish you could come this weekend too. I think it will be a lot of fun, it's always fun to meet with others who have the same diseases that you do (TAS, WAS, GAS).
